My name is Nabin Parajuli, a Singapore based Long Distance Runner.
Born and raised at the foothills of the Himalayas, I spent the early years of my life in a small village in Nepal. In 2007, I migrated to Singapore to pursue my academic journey. I have completed my secondary education from St.Gabriels Secondary School with a O'Levels Certificate from the Cambridge. Post secondary school, I completed a Diploma in Hospitality & Tourism Management with a specialty in Events Management from Nanyang Polytechnic. During the course, I worked as an intern at Pico, a Singapore based Events and Meeting planner. I was attached with Kenes Asia; a member of Kenes Group with its global presence in organising medical events.
In 2015, I joined the Singapore Armed Forces as part of my National Service where I was attached with 1st Battalion Singapore Guards. Upon completion of Nation Service in 2017, I pursued a Bachelors Degree from University of London with a Bachelors Degree in Economics & Management.
I am a Track & Field athlete competing in the long distance events ranging from 3000m Steeplechase to 10000m. As a student athlete, my major competitions were the Polite Games and the IVP Championship where I broke all three Polite Records in the events 3000m SC, 5000m & 10,000m two years consecutively. I also won triple golds in a stronger field together with the university athletes in 2014 and in 2019. I currently hold IVP record in the event 3000m SC.
In December 2018, I represented Singapore at the ASEAN University Games in Myanmar and won bronze medal in the 3000m Steeplechase. In March 2019, I represented Singapore at the Singapore Open Championship where I won Gold with a new personal best time of 9 mins 27 sec. It is also the 5th Fastest time in Singapore history of Steeplechase. A month later, I represented Singapore at the 23rd Asian Athletics Championship held in Doha Qatar where I achieved a new personal best time of 15 min 35 sec in the 5000m event.
